Mass Cytometry Facility (CyTOF)
The mass cytometry technique couples time of flight (TOF) mass spectrometry with cytometry (CyTOF) for cellular phenotyping in clinical and basic research. The mass cytometry facility provides customized solutions for complex single cell profiling with up to 45 markers simultaneously. We offer full service and established workflows from panel design, antibody labelling and sample processing to high-dimensional data analysis.
Welcome
Welcome to the Mass Cytometry Facility
CyTOF facility is part of the Center for Regenerative Therapies Dresden (CRTD) Technology Platform at TU Dresden and provide support for experimental design, staining and analysis to researchers regardless of their affiliation or location and industry partners.
Mass cytometry is a powerful single-cell proteomic analysis technique that utilizes rare metal isotope tagged antibodies to detected and quantify specific cellular antigens with high multiplexing capability (multiparametric analysis, >40 parameters), minimal signal overlap between different detector channels and without impact of cellular autofluorescence. It allows simultaneous measurement of maximal 20 pooled samples at a time to reduce batch effects and an increase of cellular complexity e.g. through addition of intracellular or phospho-specific antibodies to established antibody panels.
Our facility staff provide extensive assistance for all CyTOF projects and assist with panel design, antibody titration, labeling of non-commercial antibodies and sample staining. Our operator will run your samples on the CyTOF®2 (Fluidigm). Service can be requested through email:
