Typically the staff of the light microscopy facility does not conduct research projects by themselves however their support, e.g. by providing imaging infrastructure is often essential for publishing scientific work. References are therefore really important as they are one mean to prove the impact of the facility.

The CMCB LMF team aims not only to provide service on a day to day basis within the facility, but also to supply more in-depth education on the basics of imaging, optics and image analysis. To this end, lectures, seminars and courses are offered ranging from one-day workshops to week long intensive courses.

The LMF is a member of and actively contributes to the Biopolis Dresden Imaging Platform (BioDIP). BioDIP is a local network of collaborating facilities providing open access to state-of-the-art light and electron microscopy equipment as well as bioimage analysis support.
