Spinning Disc and VAST (Zeiss and Union Biometrica)
The VAST system gently loads each larva into a capillary, positions it laterally, and then rotates it in the field of view of the on-board camera for organ level imaging. In addition, the VAST is combined with high-speed and super-resolution Zeiss Cell Observer Spinning Disk Confocal System for high content bright field or fluorescent imaging at the cellular level.
LP Sampler (Union Biometrica)
The LP Sampler added to the system to gently aspirate embryos from a 96-well plates and to deliver them to VAST (one at a time) for imaging. After the acquisition of the images, the specimen is transferred into a new 96-well plate for further experiments. This setup allows to follow the same larvae multiple times over a time course of several days. This process is highly automated and therefore suited for high-throughput imaging.
