Shaping school development in the culture of digitality - BMBF joint projects start at the ForUS University School Research Center
In fall 2024, three research projects were launched at the ForUS University School Research Center in the context of the accompanying research on the Dresden University School trial. On the one hand, the possibilities of the digital world for school and teaching development that is conducive to learning and geared towards the individual needs of students are to be explored, and on the other hand, the demands on local authorities as school authorities in providing a corresponding infrastructure.
As part of the project "Quality of learning process support: experimental and university schools as development and transfer actors" (QualiPro), the procedure of learning process support in four experimental and university schools in three federal states is being empirically investigated under the direction of Prof. Anke Langner (TU Dresden) following the of design-based research approach and further developed together with the teachers. In the joint project, the Dresden University of Technology is cooperating with the Dresden University School, the University of Bielefeld with the Bielefeld Laboratory School, the Goethe University Frankfurt/Main with the Helene Lange School in Wiesbaden and the University of Cologne with the Inclusive University School in Cologne.
The project " Gymnasiale Oberstufe flexibilisieren durch Stundenplanung" (GO-flexi) aims to support the decision-making processes of school management to optimize the organization of lessons in order to achieve the educational goals of more equal opportunities. To this end, a timetabling tool in the form of an optimization tool is to be developed together with six schools with flexible upper secondary schools in Hesse, North Rhine-Westphalia and Saxony. An interdisciplinary research team from the Chairs of Udo Buscher (Chair of Business Administration, in particular Industrial Management) and Anke Langner (Chair of Education / Inclusive Education, ForUS University School Research Center) at TU Dresden and Martin Heinrich (WE_OS accompanying research on the Oberstufen-Kolleg) at Bielefeld University are involved in the project.
In the joint project "Open Digital Infrastructures of Municipal School Authorities" (ODIkS), strategies and concepts are being developed together with 17 municipal school authorities throughout Germany in order to confidently shape the requirements of the digitalization of schools as an ongoing task. Experts from science, practice and consulting accompany and support the municipal school authorities in this process and examine it scientifically. Prof. Dr. Andreas Breiter (ifib - Institute for Information Management Bremen GmbH), Prof. Dr. Mandy Schiefner-Rohs (Rheinland-Pfälzische Technische Universität Kaiserslautern-Landau), Prof. Anke Langner(Chair of Education / Inclusive Education, ForUS University School Research Center) and Dr. Anja Zeising (ifib consult Bremen) are working on this project under the direction of Prof. Dr. Andreas Breiter.

The joint projects are funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF).
