Collegiate phase 2
In the Schaufler Kolleg@TU Dresden, doctoral students conduct research on the main topic of the respective phase. In the second phase (2024-2027), the focus is on the key topic of data↔worlds. By this we mean the technical and cultural mediation of reality through data, which significantly shapes society and living environments. Data↔Worlds aims to explore society and culture as synthetic realities.

The doctoral candidates are actively involved in shaping the content of the program and play a central role in communicating its topics to the university and society.
All doctoral candidates are supervised by two equal supervisors from two different disciplines. They receive a differentiated continuing education program. This consists of a general qualification program that supports the early-career researchers in successfully mastering the doctoral phase and preparing for the next career steps in a targeted manner. In addition, a special continuing education program provides in-depth specialist knowledge in the STEM subjects based on the main topic.
