Research Festival 2012
Exchanging the latest research results and to be up to date about the developments of the CRC 912, members of HAEC came together on 20 and 21 June, 2012 for the 2nd Research Festival. It was opened by Prof. Fettweis, head of the Vodafone Chair for mobile communications systems. On the 1st day, the A-group (energy-adaptive high-speed computing platforms) presented their results. Between the presentations, PhD students organized poster sessions and discussed their ideas with the principal investigators. After lunch, all participants were invited to take part in the first gender awareness training. The workshops discussed topics such as how the STEM subjects can be made more interesting to attract a higher number of female students and employees as well as how to better balance work and family responsibilities.
The second day was opened with a presentation on Open Access by Dr. Achim Bonte from the Saxon State- and Unversity Library. Afterwards, the B-group which researches on energy-adaptive computing management presented the latest results of their work. After lunch, both groups met for working groups to discuss the interfaces of their research and next steps of the HAEC-program.
The research festival was closed by a plenum where the members of the HAEC-program could reflect again about the agenda points.
