The courses in construction machinery technology at TU Dresden are currently characterized by a high proportion of frontal teaching phases, which makes it difficult for students to develop application-oriented problem-solving behavior. In addition, the large variety of application cases and sizes makes it difficult to teach in a clear and detailed manner. The aim of the project is, on the one hand, to make the course more task-oriented (theory-practice coherence) and, on the other hand, to increase accessibility through the use of interactive machine models to be developed in the project and thus sustainably minimize existing knowledge barriers. The interactive machine models are displayed, animated and simulated using CAD models and 3D scans of the construction machinery so that students can actively and interactively interact with these models and different relationships can be highlighted in relation to the subject matter (function-construction, cause-effect, condition-condition). The didactic integration of the models takes place via new, work-related learning tasks that are embedded in blended learning concepts (flipped classroom, e-learning, group work) and made available on the OPAL learning platform. In this way, the intended promotion of application-oriented knowledge structures is also secured methodically.
