The extraction of strategic economic elements from complex ore deposits with conventional technologies has so far been considered uneconomical. Complex ores contain minerals with different physical properties. Hard, brittle and tough minerals pose a challenge for the comminution, since their processing requires a lot of energy.
The main goal of the ELIZE project is to develop a low-wear, low-energy and dust-free technology. This technology will enable the economical processing of complex domestic ores (e.g. extraction of In, W).
This research and development project is supervised by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) in the framework concept "r4-economic strategic raw materials" (funding code 033R161) and by the Project Management Organization Jülich.
