The goal of the project is the conceptual development and the construction of a demonstrator of the electric auxiliary drive for hospital and care beds in the hospital sector. This development creates the prerequisite for an effective, safe and gentle patient transport. The clinic staff responsible for patient transport can be relieved of the heavy physical work, especially on slopes, with the help of the additional drive. The high physical strain caused by bed transport can be enormously reduced by using a supportive or even self-propelled auxiliary drive. In particular for employees who only carry out bed transport, the daily physically difficult work is made easier and thus illness-related failures are prevented.
