Regional cross-border Partnerships (CZ-PL-SN)
With its numerous initiatives within the border triangle Saxony-Czech Republic-Poland, TU Dresden aims to intensify cooperation in research, teaching, and transfer regardless of borders to promote scientific and economic development. As a global university, TU Dresden attaches great importance to active participation in regional internationality.
The regional partnerships include institutions in the border region between Saxony, the Czech Republic and Poland and between Dresden, Wroclaw and Prague (see map).
Die TU Dresden pursues the following goals with the regional partnerships:
- Further strengthening cutting-edge research and excellence
- Enhance scientific reputation through international collaboration
- Increase international visibility
- Increase impact in business and society
- Promote inter- and transdisciplinary collaboration
- Promoting young scientists: within an international context
To achieve these goals, we promote and implement the following measures:
- We regularly exchange information with partners, including at the rectorate level.
- We prepare the framework for your cooperation (cooperation agreements).
- We organize and actively participate in annual innovation days.
- We provide centralized information on funding formats and opportunities.

- Energy (hydrogen), mobility, circular economy, sustainability, landscape protection
- Information technology, microelectronics

- We centrally provide financial support for exchanges of all status groups via Erasmus+ (incl. Blended Intensive Programmes), DAAD Eastern Partnerships (University of Wroclaw, TU Wroclaw, Charles University, TU Prague), an internal funding program for internationalization.
- We centrally provide support for establishing further double and joint degree programs.
- We promote the joint supervision of doctoral students (cotutelle-procedures), in particular, establishing IRTGs.
- We centrally establish internship programs.
on existing cooperation, exchange agreements, and activities (mobilities, projects, events, etc.) via our TUD information platform and factsheets on individual partner institutions (on request).
These goals strengthen the scientific and academic performance of TU Dresden and enhance regional relations between Germany, Poland, and the Czech Republic through education, research, and economic cooperation.
The cooperation shall be renowned beyond its borders and shall include a wide variety of members of all participating institutions and stakeholders from science and industry. Regional networks such as Dresden Concept, play a crucial role in fostering inter-institutional cooperation at both locations.
