TUD in Dialogue – pupils as climate heroes!
In dialogue with scientists at TU Dresden, pupils from climate schools have the opportunity to explore their own school grounds, link their experiences with scientific findings and discuss their own ideas.
At the end of the project, the climate heroes will present their results, converse with each other and apply their findings to make predictions and plans for the future. Teachers and parents are invited to attend the closing event.
In dialogue with representatives of TU Dresden, the climate heroes will discuss current challenges and develop proposals for solutions with the support of scientific expertise. From energy consumption at school to the commute there and back, collecting and analyzing data will serve as the basis of the discussion.
The opening and closing events will bookend both project-related meetings, which will each be dedicated to a different topic related to sustainability. Each topic will be guided by scientists from TU Dresden who can offer insight into their research. For example, the day focused on mobility will be accompanied by scientists from transport economics. The pupils will thus engage in discussions with true experts, affording them the opportunity to share their ideas and potentially effect change.
If pupils attend all elements of the project, they will receive a certificate of participation from TU Dresden.
The project will take place twice: April – July 2023 in Chemnitz and September – December 2023 in Dresden.
