General information for the degree programme
The bachelor programme in Protestant Theology deals with the scientific analysis of Christianity as an important part of the history of origin of the European culture. Students get to know central contents, questions, and methods of the subject. Through close examination of the biblical foundations, their historical tradition and development as well as the religious, spiritual, and social conditions of the present, students develop the ability to independently form a theological opinion.
The core area consists of seven modules (among them “New Testament Greek”, “Introduction to Biblical Literature”, “Fundamentals of Systematic Theology”, “Biography and Theology”, etc.) and the bachelor’s thesis. It is complemented with courses in one or two supplementary areas and courses in general aptitudes. Furthermore, students are expected to complete 300 hours of practical work. This course of study enables students to work in the ecclesiastical, social, or cultural fields or continue with a master’s programme.
