Discontinued degree program

As of the 2023/24 winter semester, registration for the 1st semester of the Political Science degree program will no longer be possible. Instead, the subject Political Science will be offered as part of the new Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences Bachelor’s degree program as a 1st or 2nd major subject.

General information about the degree program

Students gain knowledge of political systems and comparative politics, political theory, international relations, constitutional law, economics, methods of empirical social research, and statistics. Furthermore, students learn how to analyze complex issues with scientific methods while also acquiring practical experience during an internship (300 hours).

The program consists of political science as a core area, a supplementary area (history, humanities, communications science, philosophy, or sociology), courses to obtain general skills and qualifications (foreign languages, presentation techniques, media competency, etc.), and a bachelor’s thesis in political science.
