Vocational training
Table of contents
Technische Universität Dresden (“TU Dresden”) is a place of learning, teaching and research. It is one of the largest universities of its type in Germany and bears the title of “University of Excellence.” There are only 11 universities with this title in the whole country. “Excellence” is an accolade for the research that has been conducted thus far and the university’s plans for the future. TU Dresden is home to more than 40,000 students and employees in its various areas and disciplines. However, TU Dresden is more than just a place for study and research. The university also provides training in 15 vocations at the intersection between science, economy and society.
Training at TU Dresden unites research and application. Many employees from non-scientific fields help to test research topics in practice and ensure daily operations at the university. For instance, they may work in laboratories and workshops, administration or educational and central units.
