Numerous tree sponsorships have been undertaken by employees, alumni and cooperation partners since 2018, donating them as gifts for milestone anniversaries, as a reminder of shared student days, or as a sign of solidarity with TU Dresden. The plantings enhance the campus and offset tree felling, for example, required for construction work.

The idea of the TU Student Environmental Initiative (TUUWI)  is being realised in cooperation with the Environmental Protection Group of the Facility Management Directorate of TU Dresden, the state-owned company Sächsisches Immobilien- und Baumanagement (SIB), the City of Dresden, and the TU Dresden Foundation.
