HPC intermediate archive
The intermediate archive is a file system of the high-performance computers in which data can be stored during the runtime of a project and archived permanently for the project period. It is visible under the name "/archiv" on the taurusexport system. Each user of the HRSK resources has his own directory in this file system ("/archiv/[login]"), into which the data to be archived is simply copied. The files are automatically offloaded to magnetic tape and securely stored in multiple copies at physically separate locations. For archiving, it is recommended to pack related files into files of maximum 300 GB using common tools such as "tar", "gzip" or similar.
