sTUDies 3.0 teaching strategy
The sTUDies 3.0 teaching strategy was initiated by the Office of the Vice-Rector of Academic Affairs to further enhance teaching content, structures, and processes at TU Dresden. The program will run until 2025, incorporating projects and sub-projects that adapt teaching and teaching development at TU Dresden to suit the requirements of a globally oriented top university of the 21st century.
What is the sTUDies 3.0 teaching strategy?
The sTUDies 3.0 teaching strategy represents a new phase of teaching development at TU Dresden. In 2011, the quality management system for teaching at TUD was developed, giving rise to the Teaching Guidelines that are still valid today and from which TUD derives its quality objectives. The vision for teaching and the university-wide teaching mission statement have been developed on this basis. The teaching mission statement adapts teaching development at TUD to meet current and future changes and challenges in education, including digitalization, interdisciplinarity, internationalization, and increased diversity of student bodies. The processes, structures and content of the vision for teaching and the teaching mission statement are currently being enshrined in the development of a teaching strategy.
At the same time, the 3.0 in the name implies that all persons involved in teaching development at TUD are invited and encouraged to take part in the strategy process. sTUDies 3.0 stands for a multitude of perspectives toward university studies in general, and thus teaching and learning processes, as well as the educational infrastructure at TUD in particular. From students to lecturers to technical and administrative staff, this matter affects the university as a whole.
