Publication of the book "STIMMEN. 47 Geschichten von Dresdner Frauen aus aller Welt in Wort und Bild"
Under the motto 'Kunst schafft Vertrauen – Kunst bildet – Kunst verbindet', the two artists Nazanin Zandi and Elena Pagel have been running weekly comic courses with a wide variety of women from Dresden since 2018. This resulted in a total of over 600 biographical, honest and humorous narratives and drawings by women with different origins, religions, sexual orientations and languages. The 47 most concise, funniest and saddest stories were then professionally designed by 26 illustrators. The result is the book STIMMEN - a beautiful art object full of life, colours and diverse styles, which can contribute to political-cultural education.
In the event series of the Centre for Integration Studies 'Gesellschaft im Dialog', among others, the book and the artist Nazanin Zandi have already been worked with in various ways. In various readings and comic workshops, it was possible to establish a scientific connection between the comic stories and topics such as belonging, racism, diversity, etc., which always promoted a fruitful exchange. There will be further cooperation this year. The exhibition STIMMEN DES UMBRUCHS is planned for the autumn, which will be accompanied by three thematically different workshops.
The book „STIMMEN. 47 Geschichten von Dresdner Frauen aus aller Welt in Wort und Bild“ by the artists Nazanin Zandi and Elena Pagel was published by Sandstein Verlag. You can find more information on the publisher's website.
