BUILDING SYSTEM 2.0 FOR CARBON REINFORCED CONCRETE

Element wall made of carbon concrete
In order to facilitate and accelerate the market entry of building products and construction methods using the new composite material carbon concrete, companies and research institutes have joined forces in this project to integrate their respective specific experience for product development.
Against the background of increased demands for higher cost, time and energy efficiency of newly constructed buildings, the project aims at the development of a life cycle-optimized, modular construction with adapted planning and execution steps. In the building planning process, a newly developed building configurator should enable planners, builders and possibly later users to make decisions based on individual sustainability criteria at an early stage.
This is achieved by integrating price and cost information as well as energy consumption and raw material data within the configurator, which evaluates and optimizes planning according to various sustainability criteria.

Elementation of wall elements in the building configurator
The aim of the optimisation is to achieve the highest possible cost efficiency in the entire building life cycle while at the same time ensuring that the building is ecologically and sustainably designed. These requirements can be met with different approaches. These include highly efficient planning, building with prefabricated elements and - closely related to this - modular construction.
The planning system anchored in the building configurator is intended to enable building planning according to variable target criteria by combining new materials such as carbon concrete, optimized components and construction methods tailored to these, as well as largely automated production and an integrated value-added chain.
This is to be realised by means of cross-trade cloud-based planning on a common 3D model. Possibilities of visualizations through virtual reality, real-time measurements through FEM of individual components as well as the entire structure and the creation of a fire protection concept are to support the building project in accordance with the different work phases of the HOAI.
For the development of the building system 2.0 for carbon concrete, individual sub-goals are worked on in teams of project partners. The development of suitable components, as well as construction types, is the first sub-goal, which runs parallel to the programming of the configurator for planning, production and assembly - a second sub-goal. Further, the establishment of the new value chain for the building system 2.0 is the third subgoal.

In order to facilitate and accelerate the market launch of products based on the new building material carbon concrete, companies and research institutions have joined forces in this project to bundle their respective unique expertise for product development.
Against the background of increased demands for higher cost and energy efficiency in newly constructed buildings, the project aims to develop a life cycle-optimized, modular design. This also includes a corresponding planning approach, which offers building owners and users a visualized basis for decision-making at an early stage, optimized according to individual sustainability criteria. This is achieved by integrating price and cost information as well as energy consumption and raw material data within a building configurator to be developed, which evaluates and optimises planning according to various sustainability criteria. The aim of the optimization is to achieve the highest possible cost efficiency over the entire building life cycle while at the same time designing the building ecologically and sustainably. These requirements can be met with various approaches. These include highly efficient planning, construction with prefabricated elements and - closely related to this - modular construction.

The planning system anchored in the building configurator will combine innovative materials such as carbon reinforced concrete, optimized building components and coordinated construction methods, as well as a largely automated production and an integrated value-added chain to enable building planning according to variable target criteria. These target criteria, such as cost or resource efficiency, can be freely varied.
For the development of the construction system 2.0 for carbon reinforced concrete, individual goals are undertaken by the teams of the project partners. Besides such goals, the development of suitable components and types of construction is also an important goal that runs parallel to the programming of the configurator for planning, production and assembly. Within the planned work, the establishment of the new value chain for the building system 2.0 is also included.
