The doctoral candidate is obliged to make the accepted and approved dissertation accessible to the scientific public in an appropriate manner within a period of one year by reproducing it and handing it over to the Saxon State and University Library Dresden (SLUB) free of charge.
The SLUB takes the number of deposit copies to be deposited and makes the other copies available to the professorship to which the supervisor belongs.

The doctoral degree regulations provide for the following options (§ 13 of thedoctoral degree regulations):

• Handing over six copies of a version produced and distributed by a commercial publisher, if the circulation is at least 150 copies and at least on the second cover page the correspondence with the dissertation is shown with regard to the title, place and time of the doctorate, or
• Delivery of 5 copies that are permanently bound on wood and acid-free paper for archiving and delivery of an electronic version, the data format and data carrier of which must be agreed with the Saxon State and University Library (SLUB).
