Information for Outgoing Students (full time students of TU Dresden)
Students who would like to complete part of their studies abroad will find comprehensive information on the faculty's and TU Dresden's international contacts, application procedures and the recognition of academic achievements abroad.
Current announcements and information events can be found on our main page.
Priority is given to the international modules of your degree program.
Master and Diploma:
International Studies I (5 CP), International Studies II (10 CP), International Studies III (15 CP)
Bachelor's degree
International Qualifications I (5 CP), International Qualifications II (10 CP), International Qualifications III (15 CP)
These modules have been specially created for study abroad and are assigned to the supplementary area.
You can also incorporate international credits into subject modules of your degree program, subject to equivalence. These are assessed by the Examination Committee and subject representatives on the basis of the attached detailed course descriptions.
Coursework completed abroad is recognized according to our module structure. This means that you would like to include a 6 LP course in a 5 LP module here. In this case, only 5 CP will be recognized. The international modules offer advantages here, as they offer many CPs in total and the examinations taken can also be allocated proportionately.
No, you can have all modules abroad recognized (max. 30 CP), depending on how many CP you have completed at a foreign university.
An examination is recognized as "passed" if the grading systems are not comparable. For universities with a similar grading structure, we can offer you graded recognition on request.
In many Eastern and Northern European countries, however, there is a significant difference in the grading system. For this reason, conversion certificates from the host university must be enclosed for graded recognition requests (e.g. for stays in Bulgaria, Estonia, Finland, Croatia, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Austria, Poland, Romania, Russia, Sweden, Slovakia, Czech Republic). Otherwise, only ungraded recognition can be granted.

If you earn at least 20 ECTS credits abroad in your main study program, you can choose the specialization in International Studies upon written request (§6 SO).
In addition to the modules recognized abroad, the module"Collaboration in the Virtual Classroom" by Prof. Schoop can be credited as a foreign course and thus for the International major.
This international field of study offers you a higher proportion of coursework in the supplementary area (see study plan).
For WING students, the minimum number of credits for a major also changes (see DPO, § 21)
