Is studying at the Faculty of Business and Economics the right choice for you?
Only you can answer this question yourself. Not everyone who starts a degree course is happy with it - often because of false expectations regarding content and organization. Our checklist will help you to check whether our program is right for you.
- I am looking for a critical examination of current issues in my field of study, i.e. in Business Administration and Economics and - depending on the degree program - also in Business Information Systems, Computer Science and Engineering.
- I enjoy mathematics, statistics and programming.
- I want to train and improve my analytical skills.
- I want to learn quantitative and qualitative research methods.
- I am interested in theory building and modeling.
- I enjoy reading specialist literature (also in English) and acquiring knowledge.
- I like to work independently and can cope with the personal responsibility that the course demands in terms of time management, choice of subjects, etc.
- I want to work out answers and not be given them.

Dresden offers cultural highlights such as the Frauenkirche, Semper Opera House and museums as well as a diverse student life. Neustadt is ideal for nightlife, and affordable student clubs are located close to the campus. The Film Nights on the banks of the Elbe are well known, with open-air cinemas against the backdrop of the Old Town and year-round music events. The surrounding area offers hiking in Saxon Switzerland and winter sports in the Ore Mountains. Berlin and Prague are within easy reach, and housing is affordable thanks to halls of residence run by the student union and the free housing market.
