Predictive tilt stability diagnosis
Mobile machines are characterized by a significant risk of tipping due to their design and work process. The safety against tipping on the machine side should be improved for given machine designs taking into account various initial and boundary conditions. Potential diagnostic algorithms are developed in parallel in simulation and test. The procedure in this safety-relevant context is based on methods from automotive and commercial vehicle technology. The research activities are aimed at the development methodology and exemplary detection algorithms for onboard tilt safety diagnosis for mobile machines. This knowledge is a necessary prerequisite for perspective developments of driver information and occupant safety systems to increase the operational safety of mobile machines.
