Language Learning App
Our Language Learning App
- Learn German or English with the Altissia language learning app on your smartphone or on a computer using the online platform. Use the app to learn at any time of the day or year; learning does not necessarily have to align with the university semesters.
- Each license is assigned for 4 months. However, you can register for a new license multiple times. Your license will be renewed on the condition that during your previous period(s) of use, you spent at least 8 hours (for each period of use) learning with the app. We recommend using the app for at least 45 min a week, i.e. 12 hours in total during the 4-month learning period so as to progress towards your learning goal.
- Pursue your love of foreign languages with the Altissia language learning app! If you would like to learn another modern language other than English or German, no problem! There are over 20 other foreign languages to choose from in the app.
- This training can be credited towards the Language Expertise and Excellence certificates.
Registration and Placement Test:
To learn a language at your own speed with the app, please register here first. Upon completing your registration, you will receive a confirmation from the SprInt Program. In the next step, you will be contacted by our external partner company Altissia and receive an email to activate your account. Please follow all the instructions in the email and save your personal login details for the app. The email includes a link to Altissia’s online learning platform, where you will find an introductory video and user guide with tips on how to use the platform. Before you start learning the language, the app guides you through a placement test so as to determine the best learning level for you. Subsequently, the app finds the best learning material for you and you will be ready to start learning!
Information on data protection:
Only your full name, work email address, country of residence, professional status (university employee) and the language you want to learn will be sent to Altissia by TU Dresden. This information is sent for the license check allowing the usage of the app. The provider is responsible for the further processing of personal data in the app. Therefore, if you have any concerns or questions, we kindly ask you to contact our partner company directly.
