Block C: Key Competencies/Career Exploration
DISCOVERING PERSPECTIVES.
Key competencies
In addition to specialized knowledge, interdisciplinary competencies are also of central importance for successful studies and career entry. By acquiring key competencies in the OSM, you will be able to solve problems successfully and responsibly in your studies and subsequent career.
In workshops, seminars and tutorials (offered by the project Center for Key Competencies) you can train further key competencies, such as learning and working techniques, time and self-management.
Language skills
To promote your language skills, Block C includes an English course at B1 level (according to CEFR). For all international students we offer a German as a Foreign Language course. The OSM language courses are conducted by the Teaching Center for Languages and Regional Studies (German abbrev. LSK) of TU Dresden.
Career exploration
In Block C, you will also find out which career paths are open to you after graduation. Excursions, discussions/expert rounds, workshops, etc. of the Orientation Platform Research & Practice offer you insights into potential career fields in companies and research institutions. This links your studies with professional practice.
