getTUgether Zones – open spaces on campus
The open spaces can be used in a variety of ways and are equipped with electrical outlets. Whether it is an exhibition, event, open-air poetry slam or sporting activity such as yoga classes or parcours events, the electrical outlets allow for the use of loudspeakers, lighting, and other technical equipment. The space can also be used for a variety of culinary delights (such as food trucks or ice cream stands). For more information, please visit the getTUgether zones website (password-protected).
How did the getTUgether zones on the TUD campus come about?
In an competition held by the Chair of Landscape Architecture in the summer semester of 2020, students developed their ideas for the design of the open spaces, which were then further planned for implementation by students from the Chair of Landscape Architecture.
Leon Christopher Breuer's design won first prize and was selected and developed for implementation on campus.
In September 2021, the first getTUgether zones were created at the Auditorium Center and the Günther Landgraf Building. Ideas for naming these open spaces could be submitted in advance in a competition. The name getTUgether came in first in this competition.
Additional getTUgether zones are planned for the campus in the coming years.
