Lots of data and files accumulate on all our devices - even those that we no longer need after a short time. This lecture is intended to provide an introduction to confronting the flood of digital data. Maja Bentele will show us which files we should keep, which formats can still be opened in 20 years' time and how we can store the really important files as securely as possible. There will also be tips on how to deal with the flood of emails in our inboxes and how to tidy up our smartphones.

Sustainability also includes the sustainability of human relationships, so here is a taster course in NVC: From home and our environment we have learned a certain way of dealing with other opinions: Withdraw, blurt out, attack is the best oath or seek compromise etc.... NVC takes a different approach. With NVC we can learn to pay attention to what is really important to us / what we can stand by. On the other hand, we can also learn to find out what is important to our counterpart, even if he/she expresses him/herself in a completely different way. ("I hear something you don't say"). NVC requires courage. It is a way of life rather than just a communication method. And certainly not a soft-spoken one. In two separate sessions of 1.5 hours each, we will hear a little background on NVC and then practise seeing the world differently and reacting to it differently. Because: "Not environment, not heredity, but personal response is the ultimate determining factor in our lives. And here lies our responsibility!" - Martin Luther King Registration: greenoffice@tu-dresden.de |
Location: Zellescher Weg office building, Zellescher Weg 17, Room B407
Input: Johanna Edelmann and students of the Faculty of Architecture (TU Dresden)

We want to make a contribution to the sustainable development of our cities and strengthen the resilience of the city of Dresden to climate change. To this end, architecture students are developing urban cooling islands, which will then be implemented on a 1:1 scale and set up in Dresden's cityscape. On Tuesday, 16.06.2026, from 13:30 - 14:30, students from the Chair of Architectural Design and Construction II will present the design status. Interested parties are invited to discuss the challenges involved in developing and implementing microarchitectural solutions for cold rooms in the cityscape.
The event is part of the series "Stadtwandel Dresden" - More information on the series at: https: //tu-dresden.de/tu-dresden/nachhaltigkeit/news/stadtwandel-dresden-wanderndes-forum-bildung-nachhaltigkeit-gemeinsam-gestalten

If a household appliance no longer works or sewing work is needed, a visit to the RepairCafé on campus can now also help. This self-help workshop helps visitors to hopefully get their broken appliance back in working order under the guidance of tech-savvy volunteers.
The next RepairCafé will take place on the campus on June 17 at 5:00 and 7:30 pm. Anyone who would like free support and advice on repairs is welcome. This RepairCafé takes place as part of the regular repair events, which are held every 3rd Tuesday of the month in the SLUB Makerspaceinthe Drepunct Library (Zellescher Weg 17). Not only the volunteers of the RepairCafé Dresden/ Freital initiative provide support, but also SLUB staff with knowledge and equipment ranging from 3D printers to sewing machines.
In addition to repairing things, the focus is also on the café character. Visitors to the RepairCafé will be able to talk to each other over coffee and cake.
Registration no longer possible - fully booked
