Data protection declaration – photography
Participating in the 2022 Campus Culture Festival and the associated consent to the processing of personal data is voluntary.
1. For what purpose will personal data be processed?
The Campus Culture Festival is an event organized by Dresden University of Technology (TUD). During the event on June 25, 2022, photographs and videos will be taken for documentation and publicity purposes (publication online on websites, social media, etc. and in print), in which people will be visible, although not the focus of the images (crowd images). Please take note of the following before the event.
Every participating person has the right to object at any time to the production of photographs and film recordings concerning themselves for reasons arising from their particular situation. The objection must be communicated to the person taking the photographs or recording the videos.
If photos and videos are taken for the same purpose where the focus is on people (presenters, portraits), special consent will be obtained.

3. What is the legal basis for the processing of personal data?
The legal basis for the processing of personal data for the above-mentioned purpose is Art. 6 Para. 1 Sub-para. 1 Letter a GDPR (consent).
By participating in the event, you consent to any photographs that may be taken of you being used for publications in print and online media, including social media.
4. What personal data will be processed?
The following personal data will be processed:
- Photographs of people (crowd images)
5. Will personal data be transferred to third parties?
Personal data will not be transferred to third parties or published for purposes other than those stated (documentation, follow-up reporting, follow-up to the event, announcement of future events). Images will only be transferred to other media in conjunction with the press and public relations conducted at TUD.
6. How long is data processed/stored?
The data will be stored and processed until consent is withdrawn.
7. Will personal data be published?
The images created at the Campus Culture Festival will be used for print and online publications, including on social media.
8. What general rights do data subjects have?
To claim your rights, it is sufficient to notify the responsible person in writing via letter (TU Dresden, Directorate 9 University Culture, 01062 Dresden), email () or fax (+49 351 463-37280).
- Voluntariness and withdrawal of consent according to Art. 7 Para. 3 GDPR
The submission of personal data is voluntary. You will not suffer any disadvantages from non-participation or revocation. Consent to the processing of personal data may be withdrawn at any time pursuant to Art. 7 Para. 3 GDPR. The personal data of the person in question will no longer be processed. The withdrawal shall not affect the lawfulness of the processing that took place before consent was withdrawn. - Right of access by the data subject (Art. 15 GDPR)
Data subjects have the right to obtain information on the data processed concerning them, as well as possible recipients of such data, at any time. They are entitled to a reply within one month after the responsible party receives the request for information. - Right to rectification, erasure and restriction of processing (Art. 16–18 GDPR)
Data subjects may request that TU Dresden rectify, erase or restrict the processing of their personal data at any time. - Right to data portability (Art. 20 GDPR)
Data subjects can request that the responsible party transfer their personal data back to them in a machine-readable format. Alternatively, they can request the direct transfer of their personal data to a different responsible party, insofar as this is possible. - Right of appeal (Art. 77 GDPR)
In the case of a complaint pursuant to Art. 77 GDPR, data subjects can at any time contact the responsible supervisory authority for data protection.
