The digital lunchtalk lecture leads through the labyrinth of terms in comparative extremism research by explaining the different, often contradictory uses of terms such as extremism, radicalism, authoritarianism, illiberalism, fundamentalism, Islamism, jihadism and points out terminological problem areas that can make it difficult to understand the associated phenomena. Particular attention will be paid to forms of anti-Muslim racism (hostility towards Muslims). The lecture will be held in German.
