INTERREG Saxony – Czech Republic 2021-2027
The Cooperation Programme Free State of Saxony - Czech Republic 2021–2027 (SN–CZ 2021–2027) aims for a sustainable territorial development with the means of joint economic, social, and environmental activities. The common goal is the advancement of the Saxon-Czech border area to a common, sustainable living environment, natural environment, and economic space including strengthening competitiveness as well as the sustainable improvement of people’s living condition in the common border region.
Within the framework of the Cooperation Programme four thematic objectives were elected. Those objectives are consistent with crucial developmental problems and challenges in the Saxon-Czech area and defined in four priorities:
Priority 1: Innovation and Competitiveness:
- Specific objective: Increasing the sustainable growth and competitiveness of SMEs and the creation of jobs in SMEs, inter alia, through productive investments.
Priority 2: Climate change and Sustainabilty:
- Specific objective: Promoting adaptation to climate change and disaster prevention and resilience, taking into account ecosystem-based approaches.
- Specific objective: Improving the protection and conservation of nature, biodiversity and green infrastructure, including in urban areas and the reduction of all forms of pollution.
Priority 3: Education, Longlife Learning, Culture, Tourism:
- Specific objective: Improving equal access to inclusive and quality services in education, vocational training and lifelong learning. through the development of accessible infrastructures, including by promoting the resilience of distance and online education.and vocational training
- Specific objective: Strengthening the role of culture and sustainable tourism for economic development, social inclusion and social innovation.
Priority 4: Cooperation and confidence building/mutual trust building:
- Improving the efficiency of public administrative bodies by promoting their cooperation in the legal and administrative cooperation, as well as cooperation between citizens, civil society stakeholders and institutions, in particular with the aim of removing legal and other obstacles in border regions
- Specific objective: Building mutual trust, in particular by promoting cooperation between citizens
Cooperation:
At least one German partner and one Czech partner work together in one project.
Responsibility:
One partner must act as a so-called “Lead Partner” and therefore takes responsibility for the realization of the project.
Programme Area:
As a principle, the project spreads out its output in the prorgamme area.
The programme area is firmly defined in the programme documents. Participating areas in Germany are the administrative districts of Vogtlandkreis, Zwickau, Erzgebirgskreis, Mittelsachsen, Sächsische-Schweiz Osterzgebirge, Bautzen, and Görlitz as well as the urban municipalities of Dresden and Chemnitz. Participating areas in the Czech Republic are the districts of Karlovy Vary, Liberec and Ústí nad Labem.
Funding rate:
Funding can be provided for up to 80 % of the expenditure recognized as eligible from ERDF funds. The remaining 20 % must come from own resources.
German Applicants:
- Authorities and other institutions of the Free State of Saxony,
- local authorities and their institutions and associations,
- legal entities under private and public law,
- European Grouping of Territorial Cooperation (EGTC), organisations eligible under Article 197 of Regulation (EU, EURATOM) 2018/1046, paragraph 2(c), i.e. which do not have legal personality under applicable national law, provided that their representatives have the capacity to enter into legal commitments on their behalf and to assume financial liability for operations under Priorities 3 and 4,
- Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
Czech Applicants:
- Authorities and organs of public administration as well as organisations established and founded by them,
- educational institutions,
- non-governmental organisations,
- business and professional associations, interest groups of legal persons,
- European Grouping of Territorial Cooperation (EGTC),
- SMEs for projects under Priority 1 and 3.
