Prerequisite is the university entrance qualification for German universities (e.g. the Abitur).
For applicants who have not acquired their study qualification at a German-speaking institution, German language skills in accordance with §7 of the Immatrikulationsordnung are required.

No, there are no admission restrictions for TU Dresden's Orientation Program.
Yes, successfully completed exams can be credited to a later study program upon application.
You are regularly enrolled as a student at TU Dresden during the Orientation Program.
The basic OSM program is free of charge. Only the regular semester fee is charged, which includes, among other things, the cost of the semester ticket. The semester fee for the summer semester 2023 is 300.30 EUR.

If you wish, you can book various elective modules in Block B "Qualification". These elective modules are subject to a fee.

During the Orientation Program you will be supported through an individual mentoring- and coaching-program (Mentoring- und Coachingangebots).
If you decide to study at TU Dresden after the Orientation Program, you apply regularly for your desired study program.
The Orientation Program is not eligible for BAföG funding, as it is not related to a specific course of study and does not lead to a professional qualification. In return, however, the enrollment in the subsequent course of study is not considered a change of course of study under BAföG law.
For the subsequent (full-time) course of stuy, BAföG can be applied for in the regular way.
Starting with the summer semester 2024, there will be the possibility to apply for a scholarship of 300 EUR per semester for the duration of the Orientation Program. The corresponding application documents can be submitted until 31.03.2024. Further information can be found in the section "Financing and Funding".
Prospective students who would like to participate in the Orientation Program in the winter semester 2024/25 can apply for one of five "Deutschlandstipendien". The "Deutschlandstipendium" includes a grant of 300 euros per month. The corresponding application documents can be submitted from 1 - 15 July 2024. You are enrolled at TU Dresden during the Orientation Program. The disbursing office decides on the granting of the child benefit. If you have any questions, please contact your case worker at the Family Welfare Office (Familienkasse) of the Federal Employment Agency (Bundesagentur für Arbeit).
