Conditions of Participation for Workshops of the Center for Continuing Education (ZfW) of the TU Dresden on Key Competencies
§ 1 Scope of application
The present conditions of participation apply to the participation in a workshop of the ZfW from the subject area of communication, projektmanagement, selfcare, leadership and other key competencies.
§ 2 Registration and conclusion of contract
Your registration is made either via the TU Dresden's continuing education catalog or in another written form and becomes legally binding upon receipt at the ZfW. With your registration you accept these conditions of participation. After your registration has been processed, you will receive a confirmation of registration. The contract is concluded with the registration confirmation.
§ 3 Number of participants
The number of participants is usually limited. Registrations will be considered in the order in which they are received.
§ 4 Participation fee/ Inability to participate
(1) The amount of the participation fee and the way in which it is to be paid will be communicated to you with the confirmation of registration.
(a) If you are a member of the TU Dresden and
- have registered for the program or a workshop within the program "Erfolgreich führen an der TU Dresden" (successful leadership at the TU Dresden), please inform the ZfW of the chargeable cost center or a chargeable PSP element. Your participation fee will be charged internally at TU (interne Leistungsverrechnung (ILV)).
- if you would like to register for a "Key Competence Workshop" e.g. in projectmanagement, selfcare, communication please inform the ZfW in writing of the chargeable cost center or a chargeable WBS element. If this is not possible, we need your private billing address. Since in this case we must assume that your course participation is exclusively in private interest, you will be charged the full participation fee.
(b) If you are not a member of the TU Dresden, please inform the ZfW of your billing address. You will be invoiced for the participation fee.
(c) The participation fee has to be transferred to the account of the given bank details by the due date of the invoice at the latest. Payment by installments is excluded.
(2) If the continuing education training is financed by the TU Dresden, please enter the following in the further education catalog of the TU Dresden under billing address when registering:

(3) Cancellation of registration is only possible by writing a letter or an e-mail to the ZfW. Cancellation is free of charge until the registration deadline. After that date, 50% of the participation fee will be charged in the case of cancellation up to 12 days before the start of the training, and 100% in the case of cancellation after that date. No-show does not count as cancellation. In this case, the participation fee will also be charged at 100%.
(4) If you are prevented from attending, you can transfer your right to attend to a substitute person, who must register with the ZfW.
§ 5 Confirmation of participation
A confirmation of participation will be issued and handed out if you have participated in at least 80% of the training.
§ 6 Date/Program Changes, Cancellation of the Course
(1) The ZfW is entitled to postpone or cancel a continuing education training for good cause, e.g. if a certain number of participants is not reached. In the event that the training is postponed, you have a right of withdrawal. There is no legal claim to the implementation of the training. In any case, you will be informed immediately.
(2) The ZfW reserves the right to change the program for important reasons. In justified cases, the ZfW is entitled to have the training conducted by trainers and speakers other than those specified.
§ 7 Liability
There is no insurance coverage for participants of a continuing education training of the ZfW. Therefore, the ZfW does not assume any liability for personal injury, property damage or financial loss occurring during the period of the training. Apart from that, the TU Dresden is only liable for damages caused intentionally or by gross negligence.
Employees of the TU Dresden who attend a continuing education training in the interest of their work are regularly insured.
§ 8 Documents provided
Documents and software provided or made available by the ZfW in the context of continuing education may not be reproduced or processed, duplicated, distributed or used for public reproduction using electronic systems without the written consent of the ZfW.
§ 9 Final Provisions
(1) In the event that individual clauses are invalid, the validity of the remaining clauses shall remain unaffected.
(2) Subsidiary agreements must be in writing to be effective.
(3) The place of jurisdiction for both contracting parties shall be Dresden.
Data protection and consent declaration
(1) Data processing and data transfer
The data collected from you will be processed by the Center for Continuing Education (ZfW), Technische Universität Dresden, 01062 Dresden, exclusively for the purposes of registration, implementation and completion of continuing education trainings, as well as for information about future offers of the ZfW. Your data will also be used for purposes of internal evaluations, but without personal reference. Title, surname, first name, department and function are transmitted to the respective trainer. There will be no further data transfer to third parties.
(2) Voluntariness and revocation
The provision of personal data is voluntary. Consent can be refused without giving reasons or revoked with effect for the future. In these cases, your data will be deleted and participation is not or no longer possible.
(3) Storage period
For the purposes of any duplicate proof that may be required, the data will be stored for a maximum of 4 years and then deleted. You may at any time request information about the data processed concerning your person as well as the possible recipients of these data to whom they have been transmitted. You are entitled to a response with the deadline of one month after receipt of the request for information. In addition, you have the right to request a correction of your data or the restriction of processing at any time.
(4) Your rights
You are aware that you may at any time request information about the personal data processed about you and about the possible recipients of this data to whom it has been transmitted, and that a reply must be given within one month of receipt of the request for information. In addition, you have the right to request a correction of your data or the restriction of processing at any time.
(5) Data protection information for participation in online continuing education offerings of the ZfW:
For the implementation of the online offers of the ZfW, technical services are used to which reference is made in the presentation of the respective offer of the ZfW in the further education catalog of the TU Dresden. The ZfW generally uses the online services Big Blue Button, Jitsimeet and Gotomeeting. For the use of these online services, the privacy policy of the TU Dresden applies here.
External trainers of the ZfW also use other online services for the implementation of online offers. The TU Dresden does not assume any responsibility under data protection law for the use of these online services. The data protection guidelines of the respective providers of the technical services apply. By participating in the respective online further education, you declare that you have read and agree to these notes of the ZfW.
By participating in the online training, you also agree that your image and sound may be recorded by camera and microphone. This data, as well as your written statements made, for example, in the chat, will be forwarded to all other participants and the instructor for the purpose of conducting the continuing education.
(6) Data protection officer and supervisory authority for data protection
You are aware that any data subject may at any time contact the data protection officer of the TU Dresden as well as the competent supervisory authority.
