Teaching & Digitalization
At TU Dresden, digital and analog forms of teaching and learning are entwined with one another both on site and remotely to enable communal sharing of ideas and transfer of knowledge. Their selection and design are also scientifically proven to be successful in imparting knowledge.
A key component of preparing for digitalization now and in future is a TUD-wide teaching portfolio on the topic. Digitalization must be integrated in all schools’ curricula to ensure that future generations have the knowledge they will require. You can find out what degree programs offered at TU Dresden already include such content by visiting the Study Information System.
Support services and training programs for digital teaching and learning play an important role here. Various institutions at TU Dresden are engaged with providing these, such as the CODIP, ZiLL and ZLSB.
Center for Open Digital Innovation and Participation (CODIP)
The CODIP researches how digital media and tools for teaching, learning and research can be used and how they change professional and even everyday life. Interdisciplinary teams at the CODIP with over 70 employees research digital media and tools in order to develop suitable strategies, courses and digital applications.
Center for Interdisciplinary Learning and Teaching (ZiLL)
The ZiLL is the first point of contact for students and teaching staff when it comes to practical and research-oriented teaching and learning at TU Dresden. It was founded in 2014 within the framework of the Excellence Initiative as part of the Institutional Strategy “The Synergetic University.”
Center for Teacher Education and Educational Research (ZLSB)
The ZSLB is a central interdisciplinary institution of the TU Dresden. With the creation of the Coordination Office Digitization in Teacher Education, the teacher education activities in the field of digitization within the university and in the region are to be bundled, coordinated and led to the use of synergies. It is primarily aimed at lecturers and students in teacher training programs. The various projects and actors in the field of "Digitization in Teacher Education and Schools" are brought together in the Digital Team of the ZLSB.
Digitalization of student life cycle management
A fully integrated support system will support the administrative and management processes throughout our students’ time at university. This comprises all processes, starting with students’ applications and ending with a doctorate or even alumni activities. The Vice-Rector Academic Affairs, the CDIO and their teams are leading this endeavor.
The Online Access Act (OZG) represents an important aspect of digitalizing student life cycle management. The OZG ensures that all administrative services and benefits will be accessible online.
You can find a list of the digital services and portals used at TU Dresden in the overview of portals under “Studies.”
