With the help of VPN technology, a (virtual) connection to the (private) data network of TU Dresden is established for an external user (e.g. Internet access via DSL) via the Internet. After appropriate authentication, this user is then part of the TU Dresden data network from a network perspective and can thus also use the TU Dresden services. VPN connections can also be established to special institute networks. For access to the campus network OpenVPN can be used as software. To connect to the special networks, Cisco AnyConnect is needed.
