It is often not easy for single parents, as they bear a great deal of responsibility and are often confronted with problems.
Against this backdrop, the 7th fair for single parents took place on 14.11.2023 in the plenary hall of Dresden City Hall.

Over 30 exhibitors offered single parents support in a wide variety of forms. There were many opportunities to get advice: from the job center or employment agency, from preparing applications including a professional application photo to questions about the family fund. A reasonably priced snack buffet, childcare and translation services rounded off a successful welcome culture.

As in the previous year, there were numerous inquiries from people who, having fled to Germany, were looking to reconnect with their studies and academic activities for themselves and their family members. Against this background, it was important to us at the Equal Opportunities Office to provide a multilingual range of information material and to offer needs-oriented advice at least in English.
The fair was very well attended, and this annual event is now firmly established as an analogous all-day event.
