DO IT NOW - Sustainability Week between June 15 and 21, 2024
During the "DO it NOW" action week between June 15 and 21, 2024, the diverse activities and stakeholders of the university, but also of the urban society, will be presented. The main festival site will be Mommsenstraße in Dresden between June 19 and 21. A section of the street will be closed to traffic in order to create a hands-on festival.

- Sustainable Coffee Hour on 17.6., 13.00 - 16.00 in the Fritz-Förster-Bau. Want to get into conversation over a coffee? All stakeholders and interested parties in the field of sustainability are welcome at the Sustainable Coffee Hour. Here you can find out what is happening in terms of sustainability and who is involved where and how. In short pitches, some stakeholders from the state capital, TU Dresden, science and civil society will introduce themselves. - Lecture "Cradle to Cradle in Construction" on 18.06.2024, 3 - 4 pm in Schumann-Bau/A216, Münchner Platz 3 by Sonja Hilpert, Head of the Building Alliance of the C2C NGO.
- TUDLecture "Climate change as a challenge and opportunity for social cohesion" on 18.06.2024, from 6 pm in the inner courtyard of the Fritz-Förster-Bau, Mommsenstr. 6. What can we do to stop climate change? How is my own life and health affected by climate change? What forms of climate change denial are there? Is the current debate even an opportunity to come together? We want to explore these and many other questions as part of the TUD Lectures PLUS "Social Cohesion" on June 18. Dr. Manès Weisskircher, head of the BMBF junior research group REXKLIMA, Prof. Matthias Mauder, Chair of Meteorology, and Alice Freiberg, head of the research area Occupational, Social and Environmental Epidemiology at the Institute and Polyclinic for Occupational and Social Medicine, will answer questions from the audience.

- "Avoid waste and dispose of it correctly - how to use resources sustainably in everyday life" by the state capital Dresden on 19.06.2024 between 10.30 and 14.00 on Mommsenstr. in front of the Alte Mensa.
- The Omas for Future will be presenting themselves on Mommsenstr. in front of the Alte Mensa between June 19 and 21
- Sustainability breakfast - educational snacks and a chat about the future on 20.6., 10 am - 12 noon on Mommsenstr. in front of the Alte Mensa. If you want to start the morning with a relaxed breakfast and get into conversation with stakeholders in the fields of education, nutrition or sustainability at TU Dresden, the free, cozy sustainability breakfast is the right place for you. The teaching kitchen will take care of your physical well-being and you can make your own smoothie using leg power on the smoothie wheel. - Workshop Plastic Recycling from Konglomerat on 20.06.2024 between 12 and 3 pm on Mommsenstr. in front of the Alte Mensa is designed as a hands-on station. The aim is to inspire people to recycle plastic without much background knowledge and to relate to the environmental problem by doing it themselves. At various stations, participants learn how plastics are recycled and produced and what to look out for.
- Carlowitz simulation game on 20.06.2024 between 1 and 4 pm on Mommsenstr. in front of the Alte Mensa. Get an insight into the Carlowitz simulation game and make typical economic decisions using the example of growing and using trees as timber. - Workshop "Fit for everyone - stocking up on regional and sustainable food and storing it properly" organized by the Consumer Advice Centre on 21 June between 1 and 2.30 p.m. in the Auditorium Center, Bergstr. 64. Every household has different shopping habits, some go shopping daily, others weekly. But how sensible is it to stock up on food? How and, above all, where do you store different foods so that they stay fresh and edible for as long as possible? In what ways can food be preserved? How can I provide for myself if the power goes out for a long time and what does sustainability actually have to do with food security? These and other questions will be answered in the interactive workshop.
