In all of our degree programs, there are large compulsory elective areas in which you can easily set specializations. We call these specializations profiles. They are available for all important subject areas, have a very flexible structure and can be put together and combined quite freely. In this way, you can easily tailor your studies to what interests you and helps you progress.
Below you can see which Business Administration and Economics profiles are available in our degree programs. You can find more detailed information by clicking on the respective name. You can find out how the compulsory elective areas are structured in detail and which (few) rules apply there on the pages of the degree programs, which you can easily access via the website Degree programs at the Faculty of Business Administration and Economics.

All sub-areas of Business Administration and Economics are represented in all our degree programs - at least as an elective option. What is it like to study one of our degree programs?

Is studying at the Faculty of Business and Economics right for you?
Only you can answer this question yourself. And let's be honest: not everyone who starts a university degree course is happy with it. This is often due to false expectations of the content and organization of the degree program. That's why we've put together a short checklist here to help you determine whether our program is right for you.
- I am looking for a critical examination of current issues in my field of study, i.e. in Business Administration and Economics and - depending on the degree program - also in Business Information Systems, Computer Science and Engineering.
- I enjoy mathematics, statistics and programming.
- I want to train and improve my analytical skills.
- I want to learn quantitative and qualitative research methods.
- I am interested in theory building and modeling.
- I enjoy reading specialist literature (also in English) and acquiring knowledge.
- I like to work independently and can cope with the personal responsibility that the course demands in terms of time management, choice of subjects, etc.
- I want to work out answers and not be given them.

Very diverse and attractive! In addition to the classic cultural highlights such as the Frauenkirche, Semper Opera House and museums, the city has a lot to offer for actual student life.
Dresden's Neustadt district is recommended for cozy evenings and nights out. There is something for every taste and budget here. There is also a wide range of student clubs. They are particularly close to the campus and are practically unbeatable value for money.

The Film Nights on the banks of the Elbe, which offer a selected open-air cinema and concert program against a fantastic backdrop opposite the Old Town every summer, are nationally renowned. Renowned music events, district festivals and the Elbhangfest take place regularly throughout the year.
Dresden's surroundings also have their charms and offer many things worth discovering. Saxon Switzerland is an ideal destination for hiking and climbing. In the cold season, there are plenty of winter sports opportunities in the Ore Mountains. And if you really want to travel further afield, Berlin and Prague are easy to reach by car or train.
