Didactic commentary
Democratic or political action negotiates and regulates the fundamental aspects of our coexistence. It is not uncommon for people to see their own opportunities to participate in this negotiation as something that only politicians do and over which they themselves have little influence. This is then associated with ideas such as: "Those up there will take care of it" or "What does all this have to do with me?". Our poster responds to such ideas by providing low-threshold access and making it clear that political action is not as abstract and complicated as we often think. It can be used in different settings and has the advantage of encouraging participants to think about the low-threshold opportunities they have to influence how we want to live together and to make visible what they themselves have recently made use of (often without understanding it as democratic action). This can encourage others to do the same and thus help to strengthen democracy and democratic experience. If the poster is evaluated after a workshop, it can be useful to think with the participants about which activities could be added to the poster - or which might be perceived as out of place.
What is also necessary:
We think it makes sense to offer space on a second open worksheet for additions or a further development of the original poster. Otherwise, sticky dots can be useful or simply markers with which agreement can be made visible. It is also nice to offer the poster lying on a table and to make the approvals visible with a bowl of dry beans or small stones.
