Convention on the Elimination of Violence and Harassment in the Workplace adopted
On 21 December 2022, the Federal Cabinet approved the draft law on the ratification of the International Labour Organisation's "Convention No. 190" on the Elimination of Violence and Harassment of 2019.
The Convention is considered a historic milestone: it provides for the first time an internationally binding definition of violence and harassment in the world of work and explicitly includes gender-based violence and harassment. Its ratification and implementation in member states is intended to provide a clear legal framework for ending harassment and violence in the workplace. 20 countries worldwide have already ratified this agreement, in Europe including Italy, Greece and Spain.
