Login Formation Regulations
Personal and function-related logins are administered in the identity management system. As a rule, each user has exactly one login, regardless of the type of relationship he has with the TU Dresden. Function logins can also be applied for as required.
Personal logins are created according to the vvnnZZZb scheme. This means:
- vv = 2 letters of the first name (usually the first two letters)
- nn = 2 letters of the surname (usually the first two letters)
- ZZZ = 3 digits
- b = letter representing the year of the login assignment
Function logins are not generated automatically. Here the naming is based on the function for which the login is used.
Use of Standard ZIH Logins in the ZIH
The authorization for using the central IT services of the TU Dresden is managed by a modern IDM System. An e-mail account is provided for each ZIH user (except for short-term logins).
The Self Service Portal (https://selfservice.tu-dresden.de) provides users with access to all personal data stored about them. In addition, the data self-disclosure contains an overview of all e-mail addresses and organisational units assigned to the user in the IDM system.
