Collaborative writing of publications with ShareLatex (pilot)

ATTENTION: THIS SERVICE IS IN PILOT OPERATION.
Based on the ShareLatex software, the ZIH offers a collaboration platform on which papers can be written together. Anyone can start and manage projects on their own responsibility. Use is only possible with a ZIH login.
The platform offers:
- Collaborative editing of latex documents
- Live preview
- Change history
- Chat
Services included
The platform offers the following tools:
- Member management with roles
- Git and SVN repositories
- Mailing lists
- Document management and version management
- Bug Tracker
All students, staff and guests can use the service with the ZIH login.
A browser is required to use the platform. Every user must have at least one log-in on the Website and then can register projects.
The offer is free of charge.

DOCUMENTATION
ShareLatex offers even on its websites extensive documentation on the use of the service. Instructions and videos are available. All current browsers that process HTML5 are supported. JavaScript and cookies must be enabled. Sometimes an AdBlocker installed in the browser blocks individual functions, e.g. the sharing of projects. Then please deactivate the AdBlocker for this page.
PROJECT MANAGER'S OWN RESPONSIBILITY
The person who applies for a project or starts a document automatically becomes the administrator of this project. He/She can and must decide which users will be added to the project. Invitations to other users are always made by entering the email address of the users to be added.
AUTOMATIC DELETION OF PROJECTS
Projects that have not been used for 90 days and accounts that have not been used for 90 days are automatically deleted from the system. Please back up your data beforehand. Please note that all user projects deleted after 90 days will also be deleted.
