Services for Data Exchange
The ZIH provides work groups with different possibilities for data exchange and the joint editing of files available:
- Cloud storage for data synchronization between devices and data exchange with other users (Datashare)
- Group drives for workgroups (Gruppenlaufwerke)
- Microsoft SharePoint: Web-based platform for group collaboration (managing, editing and sharing of information)
- FusionForge: collaboration platform for environments in which software is developed (version controller, bug tracker, wiki, file releases)
Shared storage
- accessible by connecting as a network drive
- With the protocols Samba / CIFS or NFS
- Supported client systems: Windows, Linux, MacOS
Cloudstore
- Files in a directory can be synchronized between different computers (PC, laptop, Smartphone ...) and exchanged between users (Sync & Share)
- Supported systems: Windows, Linux, MacOS, Android, iOS
- Use also through the web browser
MS SharePoint
- Document storage with version and authorization management, blocking for the use of documents, offline synchronization option (Windows only)
- Full-text search / indexing
- Wiki, calendar, task scheduling, Blogs
- Appointments, contacts, lists
- Team sites or Project sites
- Supported browsers: Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, Safari
Shared storage
- Provisioning via the Self Service Portal at the TU Dresden
- Logins given by the applicant are entered into the Samba-Server or are provided with NTFS Rights by the appropriate administrator.
Cloudstore
- Is automatically set up once the enrollment documents have been handed in or at the beginning of the employment contract. They are activated with activation of the personal login.
MS SharePoint
- Application for SharePoint through the Self Service Portal of the TU Dresden
- Required authorization concept as an Excel-Document

- The ZIH logins must be activated.
- Conditions of data protection must be respected.
- In SharePoint, data can be processed up to the "high" protection requirement. For all other services mentioned here, data with the protection requirement "normal" can be processed. The protection requirement is determined in accordance with the Richtlinie zur Informationssicherheit (information security policy). The process owners are responsible for determining the protection requirement..
- Notices of the administrators must be followed.

Prerequisite
Shared storage and MS SharePoint require a user and group management with TU Dresdens IDM.
Free for members of the TU Dresden (students and employees). For shared storages with more than 1 TB capacity, costs may be incurred.
Provisioning Time:
- The CloudStore access is included in the basic services and is established together with the ZIH login.
- Shared storage spaces / SharePoint sites are usually set up within one work week after submission of all necessary documents
