The Studentenwerk’s Psychosocial Counseling Office is now offering its services in person again

Voluntary support urgently needed for TU Dresden’s student mentoring program
Dear students,
Can you still remember the time just before you started your studies?
You knew about the basic course of study, but perhaps a lack of information available about it made you uncertain and you didn’t know exactly what to do. Or in the worst-case scenario, you had decided on a degree program and it only became apparent in the first few semesters that this decision was not the right one for you and you opted to change courses.
In an effort to counter this problem, we have been running the TUD student mentoring program for over nine years, with the aim of bringing students and school pupils together in a counseling tandem.
To achieve this, we are calling on you as a student to provide pupils with firsthand information about the requirements and content of your degree program.
The mentorship should last for a period of about half a year, but can also be shortened or extended in individual cases. We will provide you with a detailed and personal online introduction on how to interact with the students and how to structure the mentorship. Based on our experience, you will probably meet with your assigned partner three times in person or online, maybe attend a lecture together, visit the campus or the cafeteria. During the mentorship, there will be joint meetings via video chat with all students so they can share their experiences.
As you can see, it is a flexible program with relatively little stress that provides a great deal of support for the pupils. Despite the current school closures, many pupils have registered for our program, so please help them get to grips with their studies. We thank you for volunteering!

“FLiK modules” (research and learning in an interdisciplinary context)
Opportunity for AQUA or focus courses in Master’s programs at the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Science / supplementary courses in Master’s programs at the Faculty of Linguistics, Literature and Cultural Studies
Please consult with the AQUA Officer or Academic Advisors to find out if you can receive course credit for this!
“FLiK modules” for research and learning in an interdisciplinary context are pilot teaching projects that integrate innovative teaching and learning methods. FLiK modules last for two semesters and begin with a lecture series. In the second semester, interdisciplinary project seminars and the FLiK workshop consolidate individual topics presented in the lecture series. These elements of the FLiK modules build on one another, granting students the opportunity to understand a topic of research from many different points of view. Previous FLiK modules on Risk, Bionics and Human-Machine Interaction in Industrial Production Systems have been honored with the Association of Friends and Sponsors of TU Dresden’s Teaching Award. Online training – overcoming anxiety before tests and presentations
Many students get nervous before tests and presentations at university, and this can prove quite restrictive. Since December 2018, all associate members of TU Dresden are eligible to take part in free online training to overcome this anxiety. The training is anonymous and there is no waiting time. You can find additional information at https://www.tu-dresden.de/opta. You can also gain a first impression from the trailer or the news link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MEZ5nm1a7Vo.
