Admission requirements
Prerequisite:
• knowledge of English (TOEFL: 550/213/80 written/PC-/Internet-based) (IELTS 6.5 points),
• proof of special expertise in the areas of Mathematics, Practical, theoretical, technical and applied computer science is carried out by an aptitude test and - if necessary - an aptitude interview.

German language requirements
International applicants and German applicants with a foreign university entrance qualification are kindly advised to read the requirements for German-language courses.
Application hints and tips
If, at the time of application, proof of the first degree qualifying the applicant for a profession is not yet available, the application will be considered under the precondition that 80% of the credit points attainable for the degree have already been achieved based on completed module examinations or the final thesis and the colloquium (if applicable). A certification from the awarding institute of higher education (examination office) serves as proof of the above-mentioned academic achievements. General information for the degree programme
The aim of the programme is to prepare students for the manifold challenges of the ever advancing discipline computer science. Graduates will be able to adjust to changing demands of a rapidly changing field due to their broad knowledge in both theory and practice. Additionally, graduates will be able to find jobs in theoretical, technical, practical or applied computer science.
During their studies, students can choose between a more research-oriented and a more application-oriented profile. Both profiles include mandatory modules in general competences, foreign languages, presentation techniques as well as research and practical skills. Modules may consist from a wide range of courses offered by more than 20 Chairs in the Department of Computer Science and are listed on its web pages.
The programme addresses the following subjects:
- applied computer science,
- artificial intelligence,
- software and multimedia technology,
- system architecture,
- technical computer science and
- theoretical computer science.
