2023 Milestones
From January to July and then again from September to November 2023, the three working groups developed proposals for the teaching strategy. This phase resulted in 30 proposals that are open for commenting by anyone at TUD. In addition to providing written feedback, two discussion forums were also held in which university members had the opportunity to contribute their comments and additions to the teaching strategy. Parallel to development in the working groups, the Teaching Strategy Board held three meetings to assess the initial proposals based on certain criteria and recommended them for further development.
2022 project development and expansion
The sTUDies 3.0 teaching strategy project was launched at the beginning of 2022. The teaching mission statement, which is based on the 2021 Vision for Teaching, was adopted in February. The teaching mission statement outlines 13 areas of activity in which the content and conceptual implementation of the vision for teaching is described.
Each area of activity outlines the current conditions and their potential in the current teaching and learning landscape at TU Dresden. Building on this, work assignments were formulated to address the potentials raised in the teaching mission statement, and processes, structures and (educational) content were examined. Following a vote in the Extended University Executive Board, a total of 30 work assignments were formulated.
An agile working method (including various opportunities to give feedback for everyone outside of the working groups) was adopted in order to achieve results from this large number of work assignments in a relatively short period of time. The initiators were identified, while the working groups were formed, comprising representatives of all university status groups. The Teaching Strategy Board also convened. The coordination of the session plan for processing work assignments in the working groups, as well as the coordination of deadlines with initiators, served to prepare for the work in 2023.
