IDAHOBIT 2024
In the third episode of the podcast "Haltung - Ein Podcast über Antidiskriminierung" , 2 students talk about their experiences at university. Both provide a very honest insight into their everyday student life, which is perceived as trans-hostile.
On today's International Day against Homo-, Bi-, Inter- and Transphobia, various formats are therefore also taking place at TU Dresden to raise awareness, network and empower.
For the third time in a row, interested parties have the opportunity to get to know queer researchers or research on queer-specific topics at the Queer Science Panel . Homework or project work, dissertations or internship reports that could not be more diverse will be presented. Queer vampires, gender-inclusive language or technical specifics - the interdisciplinary format attracts many.
Katharina Klappheck, a researcher focusing on the intersectional entanglement of gender and disability within the development of artificial intelligence, will also be working with the queer audience in the workshop on strategies for dealing with difficult, queer-hostile situations in working life.
IDAHOBIT was first launched in 2004 and has been celebrated worldwide ever since. The date of May 17 was chosen because the World Health Organization (WHO) removed homosexuality from the list of mental illnesses on May 17, 1990. This historic step was an important milestone in the fight against the stigmatization and discrimination of LGBTQIA+ people.
