Become a tutor
Supporting new students in the introductory phase of their studies, continuing the role change from a teacher training student to an active teacher outside of internships, and conveying theoretical knowledge and skills in an applied and practical manner - this is what a job as a tutor offers. The prerequisite for this is participation in a qualification lasting several days.
Content of the qualification
- My role as tutor
- Moderation and leading of groups
- Planning workshops
- Giving and taking feedback
- Preparing introductory/orientation tutorials
- Interview techniques for advising first-year students
After the training, you will work as a student assistant (usually 5h/week) under contract as a tutor for the new student teachers. Tasks include:
- Support at the start of the studies through orientation tutorials and tutorials on timetable construction,
- Planning and implementation of interdisciplinary tutorials (e.g. scientific communication, exam preparation, methods workshop) in team teaching,
- Support and advice on study organization issues.
During the course of the semester, the tutors are supported, supervised and trained in their work by colleagues from the Academic Affairs Office for Teacher Training. The participation in the qualification as well as the activity as a tutor secures some BP for the supplementary area.
