Absolut II - Subproject Maneuver Interface, Technical Supervision and Traffic Signal Systems for Automated Public Transport
Absolut II - Subproject Maneuver Interface, Technical Supervision and Traffic Signal Systems for Automated Public Transport
ABSOLUT II addresses the central problem of replacing the existing safety driver in the vehicle with a stationary technical supervisor (TA) in a control center in accordance with the German Autonomous Driving Act (GAF) and providing the necessary technology in the control center, communication with the vehicle and the required interfaces.
The resulting technical (control centre, communication, manoeuvring interface in the vehicle), organizational (optimal compromise of infrastructure equipment and communication, provision of information and its updating by local authorities in the operational area, qualification profile of the technical supervisor (TA)) and legal issues (distribution of liability, approval requirements, rights and obligations) are the core content of ABSOLUT II.
Only with the availability of approved technical solutions that allow several autonomous vehicles to be operated by one employee can the economic feasibility for a comprehensive scaling of automated public transport and the associated development of a broad social added value for securing mobility, even in previously uneconomical areas, be achieved.
ITVS tasks
- Design and implementation of integration monitor for communication between TA and vehicle shuttle
- Investigations into anomaly detection, real-time monitoring, multimodal monitoring and multi-trunk communication systems (Celluar & Satellite)
- Demonstration, validation & evaluation of integrity monitor
