Cool Public Transport Information
Project Description
This project involves the implementation of a real-time detection of passengers within public transport vehicles on a Be-In / Be Out-concept (BIBO) for the purpose of fully automated ticketing. The use of the BIBO approach in the field of ticketing is to facilitate the user access to the system. In contrast to existing, Check-In / Out - based systems, should it be necessary no activity of the passenger anymore. The here generated added value for the end customers and the operators of the transportion caused by customer-oriented pricing.
The basic technology for the solution of the problems within the project CPTI are wireless sensor networks, which enable tracking of mobile sensor nodes (eTickets) in public transport vehicles. Furthermore, the determined position is improved by sensor data fusion with acceleration sensors and cameras to achieve the functionality of the system BIBO.
Tasks of ITVS
-
Development of algorithms for localization in Wireless Sensor Networks
-
Fusion of Video-Information and gained Sensor Network Positions
