Refresher Course
Time & Goals of the Refresher Course
The Refresher Course takes place during the first regular week of lectures after the start of the winter semester. In this four-day, full-time workshop (Monday–Thursday), newly enrolled Master’s students learn about fundamental theoretical, methodological, and statistical skills. The course serves as preparation for the upcoming Master’s program Applied Media Research. Its goal is to ensure that all students begin their studies with a shared foundation of knowledge.
What the Refresher Course can provide

What the Refresher Course cannot provide
- A full substitute for comprehensive training in research methods or statistics
Examination
The Refresher Course is followed by a written exam, which always takes place in December of the same year. The exact date will be announced during the course.
